The Scatter Works (TSW) was incorporated in 1995 by John Stover to provide scatter measurements and consulting.

It is a Montana corporation registered in Arizona and doing business in Tucson.

Several years after incorporating, an advanced particle deposition system (the AcuDep 300) was developed at TSW by Craig Scheer to provide scattering standards to the semiconductor industry.

Several of these systems have been installed and were used to provide data for a new suite of SEMI Standards that John helped develop.

At about the same time TSW started offering particle depositions on a variety of substrates (wafers, disks, reticules, etc) for use as NIST Traceable scattering standards to calibrate particle scanners.

In 2004 (in a friendly separation), Craig traded his TSW stock for the right to manufacture and sell the AcuDep product through a new company, TSW Corp., located in North Dakota.

TSW continues to offer particle depositions as a service and has a close relationship with Craig at TSW Corp. (tswcorp.com).

A new product initiated at TSW, ScatterScope,TM will be introduced in late 2006 for the measurement of surface appearance. It is powered by the ScatterMasterTM software package developed at TSW and provides a unique way to monitor the uniformity of surface appearance during production.

Of course, TSW continues to offer scatter measurements and consulting.
